Privacy Policy

May 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Mad Sudoku (“the App”), published by Abdelrahman Barakat (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information. The App does not require registration, login, or any personal details such as your name, email, or phone number.

The only data that leaves your device is what is required by the third-party services described below (advertising, subscription billing, and the platform game-services you optionally sign in to).

2. Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

  • Game progress and puzzle state
  • Your settings and preferences (theme, language, sound, haptics, etc.)
  • Game statistics (games played, best times, scores, streaks)
  • Pre-generated puzzle cache

This data is never transmitted to our servers. It stays entirely on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App or clear its data.

3. Advertising

The App shows ads through Google AdMob, which serves both its own ads and ads from third-party networks via mediation. The networks currently mediated are:

  • Google AdMob (baseline demand source)
  • Meta Audience Network
  • Unity Ads

The following ad formats are used:

  • Interstitial ads — full-screen ads shown occasionally between games
  • Rewarded ads — optional ads you choose to watch in exchange for hints or extra undos
  • In regions that require it (EEA, UK, Switzerland, and other jurisdictions covered by Google’s User Messaging Platform), we show a consent prompt on first launch. Your choice determines whether ads are personalized.
  • Outside those regions, ads default to non-personalized.
  • The App is configured with a maximum ad content rating of PG, and requests that mediated networks treat the audience as under the age of consent, which limits the kinds of ads and tracking they may use.
  • You can reopen the consent / privacy options screen at any time from Settings → Manage ad consent.
  • On iOS, the App requests App Tracking Transparency permission. If you decline, the advertising identifier (IDFA) is not shared with ad networks.

Mediated networks may still collect technical data (device identifiers, IP address, coarse location, network type, etc.) as described in their own privacy policies:

4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

The App offers an optional Mad Sudoku Pro subscription (monthly, yearly, or lifetime) that removes ads and unlocks Pro features. Purchases are handled by:

  • Apple App Store on iOS, and
  • Google Play on Android.

We use RevenueCat to manage the subscription state across both stores. RevenueCat processes a randomly generated, pseudonymous user ID together with transaction metadata (product, purchase / renewal / cancellation timestamps, store country) so it can tell the App whether your Pro entitlement is active. We do not provide RevenueCat with your name, email, or any other personal identifier.

RevenueCat’s privacy practices: revenuecat.com/privacy.

The actual payment is processed by Apple or Google according to their own terms; we never see your payment details.

You can manage, change, or cancel an active subscription at any time from Settings → Mad Sudoku Pro, which opens the native subscription management sheet on iOS (StoreKit) or deep-links into the Google Play subscription center on Android.

5. Game Center / Google Play Games (optional)

If you opt in to sign in to Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android), Apple or Google may share a player ID with the App so we can submit your scores to leaderboards. This is entirely optional; declining or signing out does not disable any other feature of the App.

6. What We Do NOT Do

  • We do not use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, or any other first-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
  • We do not maintain user accounts, profiles, or a server-side database of users.
  • We do not sell or share your data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Permissions

The App may request the following permissions:

  • Internet — required to load ads and validate subscriptions
  • Vibration — for haptic feedback during gameplay
  • App Tracking Transparency (iOS only) — to ask whether ad networks may use your advertising identifier

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is rated for general audiences (4+ on the App Store, Everyone on Google Play). The App requests that mediated ad networks treat users as under the age of consent and caps ad content at a PG rating, which restricts ad personalization and content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Data Retention

  • Local game data persists on your device until you uninstall the App or clear its data.
  • Subscription state is retained by RevenueCat and the relevant app store for as long as needed to provide the service and comply with their respective record-keeping obligations.

10. Your Choices and Rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is generally no personal data for us to access, modify, or delete. You can:

  • Re-open the ad consent prompt from Settings → Manage ad consent
  • Reset your advertising identifier from your device’s system settings
  • Disable App Tracking Transparency for the App from iOS Settings
  • Cancel an active subscription from your platform’s subscription management screen (also linked from in-app Settings)
  • Delete all local app data by uninstalling the App
  • Contact us with privacy-related requests at the address below
