Barakat (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Currency Converter mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Informational Use Only
The App is provided for informational purposes only. Exchange rates shown in the App are sourced from third-party providers and may be delayed, inaccurate, or out of date. The App is not a financial service and must not be used as the sole basis for any trading, investment, remittance, or other financial decision. Always verify current rates with your bank, broker, or another authoritative source before acting on them.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Exchange Rate Requests
To display up-to-date conversion rates, the App makes anonymous network requests to a public exchange-rate API. These requests contain no personal identifiers beyond the standard information (such as IP address) that any HTTP request includes. We do not operate the rate provider and do not log or store these requests on our own servers.
If the network is unavailable, the App falls back to a bundled snapshot of rates shipped with the App, which may be significantly out of date.
2.2 Device Identifiers and Advertising
The App uses Google AdMob to display banner advertisements. AdMob may collect device advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android), IP address, and general device information to serve and measure ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings:
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization
2.3 Local Storage
The App stores your preferences (selected currencies, theme, recent conversions) locally on your device using standard platform storage. This data is never transmitted off your device.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal contact information.
- We do not create user accounts or require registration.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry services.
- We do not track your conversion history or app usage beyond what is stored locally on your device.
- We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for marketing purposes.

No other third-party services are used.
5. Data Retention
All user preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain servers or databases that hold your data. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because we do not collect personal information, no special provisions for children’s data are necessary beyond AdMob’s compliance with COPPA, which is managed by Google.
7. Your Rights
Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete. All data resides on your device and is under your control. You may:
- Opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings.
- Delete all App data by uninstalling the App or clearing its storage.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
